We spent a wonderful week staying with the Galvin cousins for Thanksgiving – and of course, Polliwog came with us! This photo was taken at the dinner table – nearly the whole Pawlewicz family was there. Thankyou to Bob and Noretta for inviting us and to the Galvins for taking such good care of us […]
Cornwall/Devon – August 2013
Polliwog, Marisa, Oliver and I took our summer holiday in Devon and Cornwall this summer. In Cornwall, we spent a few days in Port Isaac (home of the TV show Doc Martin and the sea shanty singers The Fishermans Friends). We had a great room overlooking the harbour – great view!
Warwick Castle
Polliwog on a day out at Warwick Castle in England with our cousins the Galvins, June 2013. A lady visiting from Buffalo, NY yelled out “Go New York!” while we were holding up the plate for the picture and all wearing matching NY Yankees T-shirts (gifts from the Galvins). http://www.warwick-castle.com/
Stonehenge
In June/July 2013, we had a visit from the Galvin family (Marisa’s cousin from NY)! We took them to Stonehenge (along with Polliwog).
Paris – Napoleon’s Tomb
Couldn’t resist taking this to Napoleon’s Tomb at Les Invalides in Paris, May 2013! Pop was a Francophile regarding food, culture and Napoleon – but was lousy at French pronunciation despite 20 years on the French Canadian border! I thought someone would stop me from taking the picture….no one did!
Paris – Notre Dame Cathedral
Polliwog plate in front of Notre Dame Cathedral while visiting Paris in May 2013 with friend Shelley.
London – The Saatchi Gallery
During a visit from our friend Shelley Fracalossi from Plattsburgh, we took a visit to the Saatchi Gallery in London. A couple actually saw us take this photo and asked us what we were doing. We explained – they thought it was cool!
Gettysburg Battlefield – Pennsylvania
The plate balancing on one of the cannons at Gettysburg Battlefield in Pennsylvania – Pop had a great interest in the U.S. Civil and Revolutionary Wars. Good memories of scampering around Little Round Top with him a few years ago, getting him to share battlefield secrets. He also confessed to pretending to be a ghost […]
Cornwall, England – Trebarwith Strand
This is the first polliwog picture we took after having the idea of photographing it at the places we visit around the world. It’s like taking Victor along with us. This is taken at Trebarwith Strand beach, near Tintagel, Cornwall – near where we married.
